Guide to Enhanced SMP

This page is a complete guide to Enhanced SMP, the survival server with new dimensions and a player-driven economy.

Connect to this server by joining Gamer Dorks at mc.gamerdorks.net on Minecraft Java or Bedrock edition and using the /survival command. If you’re on Bedrock edition, you will also need to specify the port 25565.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you play the Enhanced SMP with the server resource pack enabled, as all the new items rely on it.

Claims

You can make claims so your hard work in building your base doesn’t go to waste. Players are not allowed to steal or grief, but claiming land helps secure your belongings and show others you were there first.

To begin claiming, obtain a Golden Shovel, and right-click two opposite corners to define your claim. Use a Stick to see if a block is already claimed.

Creating claims costs Land (£). You earn 5£ per minute, and can trade them to other players. Check your Land Balance with /balance.

You can share your claims with friends with /trust, and can expand your claims at any time.

Other  players cannot use their claims to grief you. If you are a victim of claim griefing, report it.

You can configure exactly what people can access in your claims through the use of Flags and Trust.

  • /accesstrust grants permission to open doors and use interactive blocks like buttons and levers as well as vehicles.
  • /containertrust grants permission to open containers like chests and furnaces.
  • /trust grants the ability to place and break blocks.
  • /trust <player> manager grants access to trust other players.
  • If you want to change what different levels of trust, or the public, can do with your claim, use /claimflag to open the flags menu.
  • You can also grant trust to everyone with /trust public.

Here are some other claim-related commands that may be useful to you:

  • /withdraw <amount> to put claim blocks into an item.
  • /expandclaim <amount> [direction] to expand your claim a specific amount without needing your claim tool. Specify “all” as the direction to expand it in all directions.
  • /abandonclaim to delete the claim you’re standing in.
  • /abandonallclaims to delete all your claims.
  • /subdivideclaims while holding your golden shovel, and use it to make smaller claims within your claim.
  • /basicclaims to return to the normal claim type.

Shops

You can create a shop which other players can visit!

Hold an Emerald in your hand to open the shop creation dialogue. Follow the instructions to create your shop villager. Once it is created, shift-right-click on it to set its prices. You are allowed and encouraged to use any item for your shop.

Once your shop is ready, it’s up to you to get people there. Tell people where it is on Discord, or make a railway on the Nether roof to get people there. Since you cannot make warps on this server, be sure to plan ahead and build your shop somewhere accessible!

Here are some useful shop-related commands:

  • /engrave <text> to add some unique text to an item’s lore. Using this command, you can create a coin that only you can produce, making a decentralized currency.
    • Engraved non-vanilla items will not stay engraved if you click them.
  • /withdraw <amount> to put claim blocks into an item.
  • /multiwithdraw <land> <notes> to withdraw <notes> number of banknotes worth <land>.
  • /trade <player> to make a one-off trade deal with a specific player from any distance.

Teleportation

There are ways to quickly travel around the world, to meet up with other players and for your own adventuring purposes.

  • /tpa <player> to request to teleport to a player.
  • /sethome <name> to set a home with the given name. Players with ranks get more homes.
    • /home <name> to teleport to that home.
    • /removehome <name> to remove that home.
  • /rtp to teleport to a random position in the world.
  • /back to return to the location you teleported from.

Advanced Crafting

To access recipes unique to the Enhanced SMP, use /recipes.

  • Large recipes or recipes involving radioactive materials will require the Heavy Workbench.
  • Any recipe referred to as Simmering is a cauldron recipe that requires the cauldron to be full of water and the block below it to be a Campfire.
  • Any recipe referred to as Haunting is a cauldron recipe that requires the cauldron to be full of lava and the block below it to be a Soul Campfire.
  • Processing ores from the Mirror World will require Haunting, Blast Furnace, or the Heavy Workbench.
  • Some recipes require different setups than others, so be sure to review the recipe before trying to craft!
  • DISCLAIMER: The recipe plugin we use is not exactly stable. Sometimes you will lose items. To mitigate this, NEVER double-click while using a Cauldron or Heavy Workbench.

The Mirror Realm

A new dimension is available in the world. Follow the Great Railways to the center of the Overworld, and enter the village. In the center, you will find the portal to the Mirror Realm, a world that mirrors the Overworld in many ways. In it, you will find new ores, new mobs, new equipment sets, and many new weapons and tools.

To reach the Mirror Realm, you must travel to the world origin at coordinate [-152, -255], and enter the portal.

This will be more difficult than the Overworld, Nether, or End. Go prepared for a challenge.

While you’re there, try:

  • Mining ores: Many new, powerful ores can be mined here.
  • Building a farm: Plants in the Mirror World have strange properties and grow faster.
  • Diving into deep oceans: The abyss is home to many strange and useful creatures.
  • Bartering with the locals: Trade rubies for useful and unique items.
  • Summon the Wither near the world border: For a secret challenge.
  • Entering an active volcano: To conclude your journey.

Teams

Create a team for a private chat, a shared home point, a shared ender chest, a shared bank, and to prevent friendly fire.

Here is a list of team-related commands:

  • /team create <name> to create your team.
  • /team chat to toggle team chat mode.
    • Prefix your messages with ! to send them in team chat without toggling it.
  • /team sethome to set your team’s home point.
    • /team home to teleport there.
  • /team bal to check your team’s shared bank.
    • /team deposit <amount> to add funds to the bank.
    • /team withdraw <amount> to take funds out of the bank.
  • /team echest to open the team’s shared inventory.
  • /team pvp to toggle PVP within your team.
  • /team promote <player> to promote a player to Officer within your team.

Crates and Keys

We do crates ethically here. No pay to win, no gambling, no secrets.

To open a crate, simply right-click any key you have, anywhere.

There are three types of crates: Common, Rare, and Epic.

Common can be obtained by /vote or from mob drops. Mobs have a 0.1% chance to drop common keys when killed by a player, with a 15-minute per-player cooldown.

Rare can be obtained by crafting 4 common keys with a single diamond, and rare keys have a 100% drop rate from the True Wither boss.

Epic can be obtained by crafting 4 rare keys with a large diamond.

Both Rare and Epic keyalls can be redeemed from the server store, giving everyone on the server a number of keys.

Misc

  • /bp to open your backpack. Items stored there are not lost on death.
  • /bottle store <exp> [bottles] to store the specified amount of exp in a bottle. You can specify a number of bottles as well to split the stored exp between several bottles. Be aware that this has diminishing returns, meaning that you will lose some EXP in the bottling process.
  • /map to get the link for the server’s world map. You can find other players on there, or a nice place to build, or use it to locate structures. Click the right edge of the screen to view different worlds.
