Guide to UHC Reborn

This page is a complete guide to UHC Reborn, our hardcore battle royale server in Minecraft.

Connect to this server by joining Gamer Dorks at mc.gamerdorks.net on Minecraft Java or Bedrock edition and using the /uhc command. If you’re on Bedrock edition, you will also need to specify the port 25565.

Gameplay

UHC is a hardcore PVP minigame in which you compete to be the last one standing, in a shrinking world with no natural health regeneration. Gear up, fight other players, and watch your health bar. Without golden apples or potions, you cannot heal.

When the game begins, you are taken to a random place in the world. The border starts at 1000×1000, and PVP is not enabled yet. After 5 minutes, everyone is fully healed, PVP begins, and the world border starts shrinking. Over the next 25 minutes, the world border shrinks to 200×200.

After the game has been running for 30 total minutes, Deathmatch begins. Players are teleported to the Deathmatch Arena to fight to the death.

The last player or team standing wins. Most games last 20-35 minutes.

Scenarios

During the “Waiting for Players” stage, you can vote for scenarios. Right-click the Paper in your hotbar to browse scenarios. Right-click on one to read its description, or left-click to vote for it.

All players can vote for 3 scenarios. Once the game starts, three of the highest voted scenarios are randomly picked and used in the game. During the game, you can use /uhc to view active scenarios.

Four scenarios are active in every game:

  • Hastey Boys: All tools crafted have Efficiency III and Unbreaking I
  • Timber: Chopping a log breaks the entire tree.
  • CutClean: Mined gravel turns into flint, mined ores smelt automatically, and killed animals are cooked automatically. No lapis is required in enchanting.
  • Fast Leaves Decay: Leaves decay very quickly.

Kits

You can earn Souls by surviving, by killing players, and by winning games. You can use these souls at the Souls Keeper during the waiting for players stage of the game to purchase a Soul Key.

Use a Soul Key at the Soul Crate to unlock a random kit. These change the items you start with at the beginning of the game, changing your playstyle without making the user more powerful.

Earn 100 Souls for surviving 5 minutes. Earn 200 Souls for killing a player. Earn 500 Souls for winning the game.

You can also purchase Soul Keys.

Misc

  • Mob spawn rates and spawn caps are significantly reduced.
  • Level 2 potions cannot be brewed.
  • Golden Apples can be crafted with a Warped Fungus instead of an Apple.
  • Players can run /nv to toggle Night Vision.
  • There are 64 hand-picked worlds for gameplay.
